Sofia
Sofia is a vibrant European city and capital of Bulgaria. It is situated in the Sofia Valley at the foot
of the Vitosha mountain, in the western part of the country. The city has a humid continental climate.
In October temperatures vary from 6.3 to 17.6 °C with 166.8 mean monthly sunshine hours.
Sofia is a major hub for international railway and automobile transport. Three of the ten Pan-European
Transport Corridors cross the city. All major types of transport (except water) are represented in the city.
Easiest way to reach the city is via air transport. Sofia Vasil Levski Airport (https://sofia-airport.eu/en/)
is the main international airport in Bulgaria with more than 30 operating international airlines having regular flights to/from major world cities. It is located
10 km east of the city center with regular transportation to/from the city via bus and metro lines.
Sofia is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Bulgaria. It has a long history and many historical monuments
